But Scott was charming, and told the cops how important our reading was. So the cops let us go do the reading before they took us to jail. They handcuffed us and drove us to Tangeman University Center. We were late so they threw on the sirens and blasted through traffic. We got to the reading in time and read the hypertext novel wearing handcuffs. The cops loved us. They bought lots of copies of the anthology for their kids. And they let us go. |
